At a time when terms such as core or basics are at the top of the educational
platform and focus, subjects in which students work with their hands or perform,
are assigned a lower intellectual status. This illustrates how the Arts are perhaps
one of the most misunderstood areas of education today. The realization that the
Arts represent one of the ways through which humans construct and convey meaning
and the creation of art forms requires the use of judgment, perceptivity,ingenuity,
and purpose. These are some of the things that make the Arts unique.
